Metal Descriptions
This is a list of the metals we currently offer.

Bright Aluminum - Bright aluminum is clean, shiny and light. There is little to no noticeable black rub off from this material. We use hard tempered aluminum and a good alloy to give you good strength. The brightness of the rings can vary.
Brass - Brass is a shiny yellow metal that is an alloy of Copper and Zinc. It tarnishes and without care it will turn a dark yellow. Brass can be cleaned with any commercially available brass cleaner; like Brasso.
Bronze - Bronze is a shiny, dark copper colored metal that is an alloy of copper and tin. It tarnishes and will turn the color of a bronze sculpture or old penny over time. It has slightly more corrosion resistance than brass. Bronze can be cleaned with any commercially available brass cleaner; like Brasso.
Copper - Copper is a reddish colored metal that corrodes quite easily. It starts the color of a shiny new penny and can either darken or turn depending on how it is used.
Gold Fill - We offer Yellow, White & Rose Gold Fill. Our gold filled rings are made from a 14K gold tube (5% by weight) filled with a hard temper brass. There is very little chance of wearing through the gold layer with normal use.
10k Solid Yellow Gold - All rings are yellow gold.
Niobium - Niobium is strong, corrosion resistant and hypo-allergenic. It is a matte silver color. Niobium is 6% heavier than steel and 22% lighter than sterling silver.
Black Niobium - Our Black Niobium is made using heat. It is not anodized. We heat the rings to red hot, drop them into cold water and then tumble them in walnut media. Handeling the rings will mak the black darker and shinier. We did a scratch test and found they are quite resistant to scratching. You can scratch them with pliers if you try.
Anodized Niobium - Anodized niobium is strong, corrosion resistant and hypo-allergenic. The colors are beautifully vibrant. Anodizing niobium creates an oxide layer. The thickness of this layer creates the colors. The color may vary from batch to batch slightly, but the alloy our vendor has is pretty consistent so it will not vary a lot.
- The anodized layer has appropriate properties for jewelry, but it is not indestructible. It can wear off with rubbing against a harder material - care must be taken.
- Please note that it is very difficult to create an image of the color on your screen that exactly corresponds to how the rings really look. We have done our best to show an accurate color hue, but in general the colors are more vibrant and have a metallic sheen that don't show in the pictures.
- The available colors are Bronze, Brown, Royal Purple, Cobalt Blue, Light Blue, Yellow, Rose Gold, Dark Rose, Violet, Indigo, Peacock Blue, Teal and Green.
Nickel Silver - Nickel Silver is an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc. It is also known as German silver, but is not to be mistaken for actual silver. The color can be described as stainless steel with a gold undertone. This metal is fairly corrosion resistant and does not easily tarnish although it will darken with age. It looks fantastic when paired with brass, bronze, copper or stainless!
Stainless Steel - Stainless steel doesn't rust, is strong and clean.
Sterling Silver - Sterling Silver is made from 92.5% silver. A beautiful material but it does tarnish with age. It is easily restored with a chemical silver polish.
Fine Silver - Fine Silver is made from 99.9% silver. Fine silver has more corrosion resistance than sterling silver. It is slightly heavier than sterling (less than 1%).
Titanium - The metal of the Gods! Titanium is a very light, strong and very corrosion resistant metal with a matte light gray finish.
Anodized Titanium- Our anodized titanium is electrically anodized. Anodized titanium colors are muted when compared to anodized niobium colors. The available colors vary depending on the size of the ring but in general are Bronze, Gold, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Green, Rose, Violet, Purple and Teal.
